20 Best & Fun Things to Do in Pearland (TX)

The quaintly named Pearland in the state of Texas is located in Brazoria County, and while you may believe that the most notable thing about this city is the fruit from which it derives its name, there are actually a plethora of other excellent reasons to visit.

Pearland was founded in 1894 and was renowned more for its figs than its pearls, as early settlers flocked to the area, establishing what is now a prosperous metropolis of over 100,000 citizens.

A Polish nobleman named Witold von Zychlinski gave Pearland its name after noticing the number of fruit trees in the area and deciding that this would be an appropriate name for the village. Nowadays, you can even go on edible walking paths to sample some of the city’s famed fruit.

In addition to walking trails, there are a variety of outdoor activities available here, including lakes, golf courses, and green parks. If you prefer interior activities, Pearland has some historical attractions.
